Estoi

Estoi is a historic Algarve village well known for its architectural wealth namely the Roman ruins of Milreu and the Palace of Estoi with a “rococó” style.

 

Alte

Alte is located in Serra do Caldeirão and is considered one of the most typical historical Algarve villages.

Fonte Grande is the most attractive area of this town. For many centuries the waters of the river were used to wash clothes and fill the jugs.

Fonte Pequena pays tribute to the poet Altense Cândido Guerreiro where is possible to read some of his most popular sonnets.

 

Bordeira

This historical Algarve village presents a unique landscape thanks to its location between land and sea.

 

Cachopo

Cachopo is a historical Algarve village that is located in a valley of Serra do Caldeirão with a unique landscape and archaeological heritage.

 

Paderne

Historical Algarve village located on the banks of the Algirbe river with several historical points to visit namely its Castle.

 

Olhos D’Agua

This historical Algarve fishing village of the municipality of Albufeira has a rich history dating back to the time of the Phoenicians, Carthaginians and Romans.
Fishing and fish processing (salting and drying) are part of its history. The name of this historic village in the Algarve is due to the fresh water springs that spring to the seashore and sometimes even emerge on the seabed.

 

Armação de Pêra

Armação de Pêra is the only fishing port in the municipality of Silves.
The historical Algarve fishing village whose name is due to the huge amount of fish on its coast which led to the creation of a tuna framework in the Bay of Pera more than 400 years ago!

 

Senhora da Rocha

Senhora da Rocha is a historical Algarve fishing village that dates back to the Romans and whose fishing activity has always been one of its main livelihoods.
Senhora da Rocha beach is sheltered by the promontories and defended by the fortress. At the moment and in function of the times it is the tourism and not the fishing that constitutes the main source of income of this town.

 

Carvoeiro

The historical Algarve fishing village belongs to the municipality of Lagoa and has some of the most popular beaches of the winward. The best known is the beach of Carvoeiro. This one was once linked to the fishing of tuna and sardines and the canning factories appeared in the first half of century XX.

 

Ferragudo

Ferragudo is a historical Algarve fishing village with a strong connection to the sea and with several natural points to explore such as Ponta do Altar, cliffs, “furnas” and “algares”.
